Unhappy

I have down loaded this app about 3 times now & still have the same problem. The latest being yesterday now it is still doing the same thing. The face just fades out, so you cant see it. Seems like it goes into a sleep mode but I dont see such. A function. Also the hourly chime doest work.
What do you think the problem might be.
